Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
We are 2 days from completing our historic return to school and I am proud to announce that Alcott Elementary and our Infant/toddler/preschool programs proved to be one of the most dedicated and professional teams I have had the privilege of working with over my 23 years as an administrator. It’s one thing to praise a team but it’s another to acknowledge the efforts that were needed to do what we were able to do this year. The Global Pandemic has been challenging but your Alcott Team persevered. We are educators committed to you and our school community. You Fill Our Buckets and that MATTERS!
Now the Big Kudo. You, our families, and our community were patient, supportive, understanding, and worked with us as true partners. We are one: UBUNTU! The smiles and daily greetings on the crosswalk always lifted my spirits and reminded me why I truly enjoy my work. My transition from Sacramento to San Diego has been remarkable and a great deal of that is because of you and the warm welcome you provided me. Being a principal is about relationships and I value the relationships we have created.
Monday we will be active at Alcott with promotions and celebrations, and I look forward to seeing you at school. We are under a new district mask mandate for all indoor activities and will have masks available in the office. I appreciate your understanding.
5th grade families: please note the below links for exciting news about Marston Middle School’s $40 million construction project. Our 5th graders are transitioning at a fabulous time. I am attaching links to some of the recent news coverage.
All returning Alcott families: I will be sending updates and news regarding our fall 2022-23 school year throughout the summer. Be sure to look for my emails each week.
Enjoy your weekend and soon to be SUMMER Break. Be Kind, Be a Bucket Filler!! UBUNTU.
