Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Beane

Hello and welcome to fourth grade at Alcott Elementary! I am looking forward to an exciting year of fun learning in room 21.
I have been teaching at Alcott since 2015 and I feel so lucky. I have also been teaching in San Diego Unified since 2005 and have experience teaching upper grades for the vast majority of my teaching career. I am extremely happy to be a part of an amazing school and community. Prior to Alcott, I taught upper grade for about five years at the elementary school level. Before that, I taught at the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) and Gompers Preparatory Academy (GPA) as an English/History teacher, basketball coach, and ASB advisor. What an amazing experience and opportunity it was!
In regards to my own educational background, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology from San Diego State University. I then continued with grad school at SDSU where I received my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Urban Education. After having my first child, I also decided to pursue my Administrative K-12 credential at SDSU. My passion has always been in education and working with children. It is the most rewarding experience as an educator to see each individual’s grown in learning!
