11/19/21 Friday Update

Good morning Alcott School Community,
We have had a wonderful start to this school year and I am grateful for this TEAM (which includes you: our community, parents, and guardians).  Your support and patience have been remarkable and the reason we have been able to make this historic return to school during this global pandemic.
So now we reflect.  I would like each of you to spend this coming week celebrating your family and friends.  Although there are many obstacles facing our everyday lives, we need to remember just how much we do have.  My wife and I are looking forward to having our two boys home and spending time talking, sharing, and laughing.  It is what "fills my bucket".
As our staff has learned from reading, How Full is Your Bucket, "...to increase positive emotions in your life and others' lives, you must make a habit of filling buckets...our relationships, careers, and lives will be much more fulfilling if we increase the flow of positive emotions around us." (Pg. 67)
What a year we have all experienced and I believe we are coming out of this pandemic stronger, more sensitive, and more aware of just how much we need to come together as a community, city, country, and world.  We are one:  UBUNTU.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break.
Sincerely,
Principal Lewis
