Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
We are getting ready for our Spring Book Fair. Be sure to follow the PTA updates for details. Our multipurpose room is being transformed as I write this message and will be ready to welcome students next week. Students will be amazed at this Book Fair set up. Let’s read!
This week’s FWOW (Feeling Word of the Week) is CURIOUS. Be sure to use this word with your children at home, during dinner time conversations, and at family time. Our classroom teachers will be engaging students this week with our FWOW.
Pizza with the Principal next week we will be celebrating 9 Leaders and Scholars from Ms. Hemingway/Mr. Neri, Ms. Smith, and Ms. Rannazzisi (3 per class = 9 total will join me). Students will be selected by teachers for demonstrating what it means to be a bucket filler at Alcott. Be Kind: Be a Bucket Filler!
A special thank you to our Infant/toddler Team: I had the amazing opportunity to spend a day on Tuesday as an Infant/toddler assistant. It gave me the unique chance to be part of the amazing work that our staff performs for this special group of infants and toddlers. I feel fortunate.
Class Meeting success: what I am observing and hearing in classroom meetings has been impressive. Teaching students how to resolve conflict and empowering them to use “I statements” is one of the greatest things we can teach today’s youth. We continue to strive to create a culture free of bullying and exclusion, so all students are happy at school. Our weekly class meetings are allowing students to work alongside our safe adults to address any and all concerns.
CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY: Your voice is necessary: All parents in California Public Schools are asked to take the attached survey each year to assist school counselors in servicing students’ needs. Please open this link and ensure your voice is heard!
Women’s History Month: Be sure to ask your students about how we are celebrating Women during this important month…Let’s ensure our students value the efforts of Women!
Elementary School Conference Week (March 23-25): our teachers are looking forward to our upcoming Parent/Guardian – Teacher conferences. Our promise to you is to strengthen our home/school connection and ensure our families feel welcome and part of this conference week. All TK-5 grade classrooms will be on minimum day schedule during our conference days.
